Tree Planting on 10/21 with Winooski Natural Resources Conservation District

This fall the Winooski Natural Resources Conservation District and Rethink Runoff will plant over 450 trees along a tributary to the Winooski River in Colchester, VT we need your help! Planting trees near streams helps to prevent erosion, provides shade to cool the stream and creates important habitat for wildlife like wood turtles and warblers. We need volunteers to help dig holes, move supplies and plant trees on Wednesday, October 21st. Two work shifts are available between 9:00am and 2:00pm. We will take covid-safe precautions. Participants are required to bring masks and sturdy shoes and encouraged to bring their own water and garden gloves. To sign up, please fill out this form: https://forms.gle/r8Yi7Hj19Yj3i3pW8 We will email everyone who has signed up a week before the event with details about parking and other logistics. Thanks for doing your part to help keep Lake Champlain clean!
