Getting to Net-zero Energy:

Developing a roadmap for Burlington

Burlington Electric Department (BED) has a goal of making Burlington a net-zero-energy (NZE) city by 2030. At net zero, all energy for electricity, heating, cooling and in-city ground transportation will come from renewable sources. Darren Springer, General Manager at BED, will outline:

  • The process BED will use to develop a roadmap to NZE, and

  • Opportunities for community engagement in the development process.

Monday, November 26, 6:30-8:00 pm

At the last Conversation, Dwight deCoster, Program director at Champlain Valley Weatherization Service, outlined their full-service approach to creating safe, warm, healthy and efficient homes for low-income Vermonters. A brief summary is here.

We also compiled a guide to weatherization resources in and around Burlington, starting with a 1st-call list to use when you don’t know where to start. It’s here.

Thanks for helping create a just, inclusive and renewable energy future for Burlington.,

Rick
