A wide variety of actions can help us reverse the growth in Vermont’s greenhouse-gas emissions that occurred from 2012 to 2015 (the last year for which data are available). Check out the Energy Action Network’s 2018 Annual Progress Report, here, for some of the opportunities. Others will be addressed in the meetings below.

Data-Driven Community Mobility
Dr. Mina Sartipi, University of Chattanooga
If, as predicted, the 21st century is an urban living century, with about 2/3 of the global population living in urban environments by 2050, increased action-based, data-driven, and collaborative research with private and public partners will be required to address community challenges, directly or indirectly enabling us to improve citizens’ lives and create an environment that is livable, accessible, and healthy for all. Dr. Sartipi will reflect on a multi-part research focus on mobility (to connected vehicles and multi-modal mobility), smart healthcare, energy (anomaly detection and smart buildings), and next-generation wireless communication to increase connectivity and observability.
