Help us get over the finish line with our goal on the last day, Friday, February 11. We’ve all been isolating for way too long. Even though it’s from a distance, our collective challenge to log 1000 trips of commuting by walking or biking is a chance to get active with other Vermonters. You might have more opportunities than you think! These also count: Utilitarian trips ex. If you work from home, walk or bike to get groceries Multi-modal trips ex. Walk to the bus stop One way trips ex. You walk/bike to work and get a ride home Got a cool pic of your commute? (We see you snow-shoe commuters!!) Post it to social media with the hashtag #winterbikewalk2022 — Click to learn more about the Winter Bike/Walk Challenge happening now through Friday, February 11. Black History Month and Transit Equity Kicking off Black History Month, Transit Equity Day took place on Rosa Park’s birthday, February 4th, to honor her pivotal role in the fight for Transit Equity. We’ll be posting about transit equity and Rosa Parks on our social media this month to raise awareness for transit equity and celebrate the fearless activism Parks practiced throughout her life. I-89 Study — Public Input Opportunity The Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission (CCRPC) is working with the Vermont Agency of Transportation to develop a transportation improvement plan for Interstate 89 through Chittenden County. The Chittenden County I-89 2050 Study will address future transportation needs of all users by improving safety, connectivity, and mobility; promoting livable communities; meeting our climate goals; and investing in the regional economy. The Advisory Committee meeting scheduled for February 8th includes time on the agenda for public comment. Click here to find out more. |
