| The goals of the Challenge are to: -Inspire students at accredited colleges and universities in the U.S. and its territories to work directly with communities in the identification and characterization of EJ challenges using data and publicly available tools, and -Help communities address EJ challenges and/or vulnerabilities to environmental and public health hazards using data and publicly available tools. In Phase 1, students will submit a video that demonstrates innovative approaches to identify and characterize an EJ issue(s) in a community using data and publicly available tools. Challenge participants will have a chance to win up to $20,000, as well as other additional benefits. Details on Phase 2 of the challenge will be shared at a later date.
