United Way’s Volunteer Connection site is set up to help connect agencies and volunteers.  Agencies are working hard to navigate volunteering during this time, so the opportunities are limited.  Here is a link for Volunteer Connection to learn more about these and other opportunities.

SEEKING ADULTS TO MENTOR YOUTH – This is a fun & rewarding way to support kids in our community! Big Brothers Bigs Sisters of Vermont is looking for adults to spend 2-4 hour per month mentoring a youth age 6-17. Community-based, site-based, and online options available. Volunteers are provided with training and ongoing staff support for the duration of the match. Background check required. COME ON BOARD – Steps to End Domestic Violence needs a few talented and conscientious volunteers to join their Board of Directors. Community members with a passion for their mission of ending domestic violence and addressing the needs of those affected by violence in Chittenden County. Applicants should also have a familiarity with nonprofits and enjoy fundraising. If interested in exploring this opportunity, email steps@stepsvt.org.

SOCIAL MEDIA LIASON & WEBSITE DEVELOPER – Betty’s Bikes is a nonprofit bike shop that hopes to fill the gap between affordability and safe, eco-friendly transportation for Vermonters. They need a social media content developer to help create an online media presence and a website developer that can help keep offerings current and the website working well. VT WOMEN”S MENTORING PROGRAM – Spring 2021 Mentor Training – Looking to make a difference in this time of uncertainty? Train to become a mentor in the Vermont Women’s Mentoring Program. Mercy Connection partners with the Vermont Department of Corrections and others to match volunteer mentors with incarcerated and court-involved women to coach them while making the transition to restorative and sustainable lives across Vermont. To become a mentor, participate in the upcoming 5-week training, Wednesdays, March 3 -24 and Monday, March 29.
