As people gather for the UN Climate Action Summit in New York, get inspired and motivated locally by stories of successful action against climate change and for human health.
Panelists will share stories of how they’re fighting to protect human health in the face of a warming planet, then together, we’ll imagine and plan how we can collectively work on behaviors, policies, and actions for systemic change.
Panelists include:
Adriana Gonzalez, an environmental justice organizer working in Puerto Rico
•
Dan Quinlan, Vermont Climate & Health Alliance
•
Bindu Panikkar, UVM Rubenstein School of Environment & Natural Resources
This public discussion is offered as part of the annual meeting of Regional Centres of Expertise for Education for Sustainable Development (RCE’s) in the Americas, which is hosted this year by The Greater Burlington Sustainability Education Network (GBSEN). GBSEN is one of 168 RCEs worldwide, each dedicated to working individually and collectively to achieve the U.N.’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Shelburne Farms, UVM, and the City of Burlington co-founded GBSEN in 2014.
