Now accepting nominations for the 2nd annual Service-Learning Faculty Award – deadline: April 22

The Service-Learning Faculty Award recognizes the outstanding use of service-learning pedagogy in a Champlain College course. In 2018, Duane Dunston of the ITS Division won the award.
Criteria: Any instructor (full time or adjunct) teaching a Service-Learning (SL) designated course at Champlain College may be nominated for the Service-Learning Faculty Award. Self-nominations are acceptable.
The review committee will consider the following in reviewing the nomination letters & supporting materials:
  • Effective collaboration with community partners in developing mutually beneficial projects or service
  • Successful integration of the experiential component so that it fulfills academic learning goals
  • Effective use of assignments that enable students to prepare for and learn from the service component (e.g. critical reflection).
  • Demonstrated commitment to service-learning pedagogy
Nomination deadline: April 22, 2019. The award, which includes a monetary prize, will be presented at the May 8th Faculty Showcase in the Champlain Room.  To nominate someone (or yourself) for the award, please complete this form.

Thank you for your nominations!
