this Friday, April 3rd, 7:00 pm at the Roxy Theatre in Burlington on corner of So. Winooski and College Sts.
INHABIT is a feature length documentary film about permaculture and ecological design – which features a few VT farms/ homesteads, among others from throughout the northeast and midwest.
Myself (one of the farmers), the filmmakers, and others featured in the film will be on hand for a panel discussion after the screening.
The Burlington screening will be a fundraiser for permaculture research, Vermont farms, and permaculture education scholarships (Permaculture Institute of the Northeast (P.I.N.E.) 501(c)3).
If this is something you’d be interested in hearing more about- please let me know!
Here is a pre-production teaser, which is essentially the part about our farm- specifically flood resilient agriculture (Irene, etc.) and tree crops as riparian buffers (i.e. ‘productive buffers’).
Here is a general trailer:
Tickets are $12, available here, and will most likely sell out beforehand:
The film provides a great overview of solution-oriented initiatives going ‘beyond sustainability’ towards ‘ecological regeneration’ and provides some great info on stormwater, waste, urban and suburban food production, ecological economics, and farm-scale permaculture.
