Groucho Fractal is a diy sustainable technologies touring presentation. UVM is hosting it on April 22 as part of Earth Week.
The presentation is entirely powered by bicycle where audience participants create organic vegan 3d printed snacks by using a brain computer interface device.
It’s presented by engineer and artist Scott Beibin. He uses audience participation and humor to facilitate an access point for people to plug into the grassroots movement behind the culture of open source eco-tech, while presenting tangible and accessible examples of do-it-yourself environmentally sustainable technologies.
This Includes a hands-on-show-and-tell of prototypes including the Function Is the Key / Sorcerbot 3D printer which is built using biodegradable plastics and postconsumer waste materials. (Scott is one of the designers of this 3D printer.)
In addition to the overview of the growing sustainable futurist movement, the presentation also builds awareness of the climate impact of both electrical power production and animal agriculture industries.
