The Community Sailing Center (CSC), right here in Burlington, will host an intern for the summer (May to July/August).
The intern will be a primary person with whom students and community partners have first-hand contact at the CSC. Therefore, the intern must be friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable of the rules, regulations, and operations of the CSC. Interns must be enthusiastic about working with grades 4-12 on educational topics ranging from lake ecology to human impact. Interns will expose students to the value of learning outside while utilizing the sport of sailing as a learning platform.
Furthermore, interns will be involved with program and curriculum planning that he or she will implement during program seasons. The ideal candidate will have or desire curriculum and lesson planning skills. In addition, the intern will be involved with program development and partnership cultivation. Please expect to take on different tasks and be willing to learn various skills to be successful in a diverse program and educational environment.
This position will require 10 to 20 hours per week, depending on intern schedule. We are flexible with scheduling, but we need intern support in May and throughout June and July.
