The following is a message from our very own Kristin Wolf:
It is my pleasure to report another great year at the Champlain College Apiary. Over 100 students visited the apiary this fall for a first-hand encounter with the bees, and with the help of plenty of dry, sunny summer weather, many motivated students, and very busy bees, we produced 500+ pounds of delicious honey! AND…you can now purchase this honey with a credit card on our webpage:
Remember that all proceeds go back to the bees. Your support is much appreciated!
Thank you to the many students who volunteered their time to help harvest, bottle, label, and sell the honey, including Talon Birns, Kaity Roberts, Maggie McNamera, Sarah Plisinski, Dan Puckowski, Caleb King, Aileen Casey, Julie Skelly, Sarah Handrahan, and Cody Mannigan.
And a special thank you to the apiary staff – Rob Williams (marketing man…and reason you can pay with a credit card), Rebecca Carlson (Champlain Class of 2014 and Amazon adventurer), Meredith Hansen (the hive hand), Dylan Cullen (capable of all-things apiary), Byrne Geary (salesman extraordinaire), and Jillian Conner (the getaway driver, who lugged 500 lbs of honey back-and-forth from the extractor…all summer).
It is only for the good work of all of these individuals that we are able to bring you the sweetness of our bees’ labor.
