Protected Intersections, the Latest in the Evolution of Bike Facilities

Protected Intersections For Bicyclists

You may be noticing an explosion in buffered bike lanes and cycle tracks throughout US cities, giving riders more than just a painted area between bikes and cars. It’s becoming conventional wisdom that providing more protection is key to encouraging more people to get on their bikes. But the newest

Signs of Spring: Kohl’s Kids Bike Smart Trailer Rolls Out!

Highgate School is set to receive their Bike Smart trailer at the end of the month! We are excited to get out there this spring and teach students bike safety skills!

Did you know: in VT to signal a turn, there is no need for fancy arm movements. You can simply point in the direction that you intend to turn. Good news for young kids!

Speak Up for Safer Roads!

H.501 is a bill that would make it so that drivers impaired by drugs are treated the same as drivers who are impaired by alcohol. This change would be a big help to law enforcement officers as they try to keep impaired drivers off Vermont’s roads.

Thanks Times Two — VBT and Earl’s!

Thank you to VBT for donating a van to Local Motion! This is the third van that VBT has donated to us. We rely on these vans for many projects, especially the Bike Ferry and the Bike Smart program!

And a big thank you to Earl’s Cyclery for donating profits from tune up classes last month! Your contribution will go to directly support our mission.
