We are so excited to get back to making a difference with all of you in this new year! While 2021 hasn’t gotten off to a wholly positive start, we want to keep hope alive. Please make sure to read a message from our director in the January newsletter for our thoughts and reaction to the events of January 6. Change does not happen over night, but you can make small changes every day to benefit the good of others in your community and across the globe.
As you navigate the new year, we will be by your side with exciting new resources. Read on to learn about Fair Trade Campaigns’ plans and for resources regarding National Human Trafficking and Slavery Prevention Month.

Fair Spring Monthly Themes
We dedicated September, October, November, and December of 2020 to different monthly themes associated with various social justice issues. Since so many of you shared your enthusiasm for Fair Fall, we have decided to continue with monthly themes in to the spring! Stay tuned for our first official theme coming in February.
For now, check out the resources below regarding National Human Trafficking and Slavery Awareness Month.
National Human Trafficking and Slavery Prevention Month
The Fair Trade Movement is heavily aligned with human trafficking and slavery prevention. The certification process aims to aid those especially vulnerable to exploitation by providing fair wages, safe working conditions, zero tolerance for child or forced labor, and through the Fair Trade premium. The premium is the additional funds that go directly to producer groups who democratically decide how best to utilize the premium to benefit their communities.
How To Get Involved:
- Purchase Fair Trade certified products whenever possible
- Host a virtual screening of Not My Life for your campaign and community (suggested for High School aged children and up)
- Have a social distanced/virtual ethical fashion show
- Do a Facebook or Instagram live chat with a local organization fighting trafficking
- Check out these great resources for more ideas!
