Sunday, September 16, 2018 – 11:00am to 1:30pm
Brot Bakery (map)
Brot Bakery was founded by Heike Meyer, bakeress and food lover. Growing up in bread-centered Germany, Heike developed a taste for good bread and pastries early on, strictly requesting only the heartiest whole grain breads for her Kindergarten lunch box and developing her first pastry recipe (an apple cake that was barely edible) at age 5. Join us for a tour of the bakehouse and an afternoon of hands-on baking and eating.

Then we will enter the Grocery aisles and Perishables coolers, to learn to become savvy label readers as we shop for nourishing, long-lasting foods that contain 5 ingredients or fewer. No matter what kind of diet you follow, these pennywise tools will help you stock your kitchen with a variety of healthy, local, and even organic foods and develop a better understanding of Co-op sales.
