I am hoping you can send this out to your students today to invite them to this training facilitated by Bennington College students and Energy Independent VT (held at Middlebury College!). It’s happening THIS SATURDAY, and is sure to be a collaborative, network building space for VT students! We can help with carpools if necessary.
Please let me know if you are able to push this out!
In Solidarity,
Sarah

I’m reaching out to invite you to a unique training that’s happening on Saturday, November 18th at Middlebury College from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Students will learn about carbon pricing, intersectional climate advocacy, and how to speak with elected officials like champs. It is just the opportunity for students to jump in and get valuable skills to advance meaningful climate policy, while connecting with environmental leaders in Vermont. You’ve gotta be there.
The training will be hosted by Our Climate, whose mission is to empower the generations most affected by climate change to advocate for equitable, science-based climate policy. We believe that young people are some of the most important messengers to share how detrimental pollution is to our health and future. We need you there. Will you join us for the training?
What: Collaborate for Climate Action: a youth symposium
Where: Middlebury College
When: Saturday, November 18 from 9:30am to 4pm
Who: Students & Millennials interested in learning about carbon pricing, climateadvocacy, and lobbying skills
How: RSVP HERE.
Objectives:
- Learn about the connections between climate change and racial, social and economic justice
- Familiarize yourself with the campus and national scope of Our Climate’s #PutAPriceOnIt campaign, and how we align with state coalitions
- Develop and apply your own personal tools and skills to become an effective climate justice organizer to build transformational campaigns on your campus
- Build a supportive and intentional community with other organizers in your state
- Get acquainted with the political landscape of campuses, Vermont and the Northeast
- Learn to deal with the psychological effects of planetary catastrophe in order to organize against it
It’s time to bring young people to the fight, it’s time to win.
