Event Volunteer Information:
Spectrum’s mission is to empower teenagers, young adults, and their families to make and sustain positive changes through prevention, intervention, and life skills services. Spectrum runs several youth shelters, a counseling program, and a drop-in center where homeless youth can go to get a hot meal, take a shower, and fulfil other basic needs. Check out our website to learn more about our programs: www.spectrumvt.org.
One of Spectrum’s biggest fundraising events of the year is coming up on Thursday, October 20th, and we are looking for volunteers to help make the evening a success!
The Empty Bowl Dinner is an annual fundraising event that aims to raise enough to cover the cost of the 12,000 meals Spectrum serves youth annually. It brings together 250 guests who choose a handmade ceramic bowl to keep and fill with soups donated from local restaurants. The event includes live music and a giving board that allows people to “buy” program items directly for Spectrum’s clients, such as bus passes, school books, or winter clothes.
The event will take place at the Elley-Long Music Center in Colchester, VT. The dinner itself is from 5:30-7:30pm on Thursday, October 20th.
We are looking for volunteers to help the day of the event, specifically with event set-up and breakdown.
- Set-Up Volunteer: 12:30pm-5:30pm (This shift can be shorted or broken up. Our greatest need is from 12:30pm-3:30pm)
- Break-Down Volunteer: 7:15pm-9:00pm
