Vermont SWEEP is seeking a Coordinator to help the Board of Directors achieve our upcoming activity goals and work toward our vision. This contract position will start in October 2016 and conclude in April 2017. Objectives of the position include:
- Working with the board to build organizational infrastructure.
- Helping to plan and convene meetings and events.
- Helping to improve service to our members.
- Helping with fundraising efforts.
The Coordinator will work with SWEEP’s Executive Committee to develop a workplan to reach these objectives, with deliverables and due dates identified. Compensation for this 7-month contract will be up to $5,400, with periodic payments based on completed deliverables.
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
- A commitment to fostering environmental literacy in Vermont and beyond.
- A bachelor’s degree in Environmental Education, Education, or a related field and/or equivalent experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Ability to work as a high-functioning member of a group, in both a leadership role and a followership role.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- A reliable computer, reliable internet service, an email account, and a phone.
- Access to a car for occasional meetings and other functions. (Mileage expenses will not be reimbursed by SWEEP, unless covered by activity funds.)
- Certificate of Professional Liability Insurance (which can be obtained if hired)
