Over the past month, we’ve taken
unprecedented action for our future – a future where there is
justice and dignity for workers and producers, in a food system that sustains our communities, seeds, water, and land.
These are some the values that have been translated over many years into labels and certifications, and carefully aggregated into our Real Food Standards. The power of our standards is clear: they have been adopted by 100+ institutions, upheld by 900 student researchers, and upheld in the Real Food Calculator, an app used by colleges and universities from from coast to coast.
Now, we have the opportunity to further strengthen our vision and our voice for what the Real Food Standards should be. Our National Real Food Standards Council launched the public comment period about the Real Food Standards on Food Day 2015. The public comment period closes April 1.
