We’re thrilled that BREAKAWAY is a finalist for the 2016 Womanity Foundation Award. Our team is privileged to be partnering with Grassroot Soccer and longtime partner, Population Media Center on our proposal to create a mobile version of the game and localized education model. If we’re successful in receiving the award, we’ll bring BREAKAWAY full circle and return to South Africa, where initial research was conducted, and carry out “SKILLZ-BREAKAWAY” youth camps to hundreds of South African young people. More broadly, the mobile version will allow for further scale-up and wide-spread access to this proven platform of technology for social change. We’re busily formulating ideas, writing proposals, and making plans – but we wanted to take a pause and share these brief updates with you.
Enjoy! And thank you for being a BREAKAWAY supporter!
