After 18 years in higher education, David Hutchison and Shari Galiardi traded their well-worn path for one less traveled. They brought new life to a tired 1957 Sportcraft 15-foot “canned ham” camper trailer which they purchased from Ebay and hit the road. Their “tiny home on wheels” combines a solar-powered electrical system with a vintage look from the golden age of travel trailers. Over the past three years they have covered more than 55,000 miles across the country and Canada, visiting 44 states, 50+ national parks and monuments, and many other public lands. Along the way they visited old friends and made many new ones, found new meaning through seasonal work and volunteer service, and fell in love with their America all over again.
