Service Learning through Forest Ecology and Invasive Species

When: Wednesday Oct. 28th 8:30 – 3pm

Where: NorthWoods Stewardship Center, East Charleston, VT

Cost: $75, lunch and curriculum materials included

Bring: Small backpack, outdoor footwear/clothes, raincoat/layers, water bottle.

•Participate in a hands-on workshop outlining the steps to create a successful service learning opportunity for all ages

•Explore plant communities through participation in a sample of hands-on

•Practice your skills in outdoor teaching and learn new strategies for engaging students in hands-on, meaningful, service learning

• Actively address invasive plant issues and their impact on habitats in the region with activities integrated with Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards

•Take home resources with more than 100 activities
