This is a pivotal moment for the climate movement.
In December, world leaders will meet at the United Nations Climate Change Conference, tasked with reaching an international agreement to cut carbon emissions. There is overwhelming scientific consensus and a growing global climate movement that recognizes the need for swift action.
Yet, as the United States prepares for these critical negotiations, big polluters like the Koch Brothers are hard at work trying to undermine American climate leadership. The Koch-funded Americans for Prosperity has taken aim at the Clean Power Plan, President Obama’s most significant climate commitment.1 At the very moment American climate leadership is needed, people like the Koch Brothers are undermining it at home. This sends the wrong message to world leaders ahead of the Paris climate summit.
Help us counter the Koch Brothers’ toxic spin. Tell President Obama you support strong climate action in Paris!
For America to put its best foot forward, world leaders and President Obama must know you and I strongly support meaningful climate action in Paris. While corporate polluters like the Koch Brothers are attempting to divide us, we must be united in calling for a strong and just agreement to cut carbon emissions across the globe.
Our climate policies shouldn’t be dictated by a handful big polluters who profit at the expense of our environment. Instead, it must reflect the diverse needs of people across the globe who are already seeing the impact of climate disruption in their communities. Let’s ensure our country does its part and President Obama has the support needed to act in Paris to address climate change.
