Local Motion says: This summer, we’re challenging 2,000 + Vermont riders, runners and walkers to make more trips on foot or by bike.

The Vermont Bike/WALK Challenge is a Vermont-only challenge (separate from the National Bike Challenge). It is fun, free, and a great way to motivate you to get outside and ride, run and walk! This year, we are focusing on trips over miles (trips count for points in the challenge—miles have their own separate leaderboard), giving you more excuses to go outside and move your body!

We’ll have great prizes, and you don’t have to be a long-distance bicycle rider, or runner to score high on the leaderboard—just get outside and go somewhere! Every meaningful trip counts! Learn more here: www.vermontbikechallenge.org

We invite you to join us! It’s never too soon or too late to join. Ride or walk for fun, to work, on the trail—anytime you can. Join us at www.vermontbikechallenge.org!

The National Bike Challenge is a nationwide event uniting thousands of current bicyclists—and encouraging countless new riders. In its simplest form it is a logging center for users to record miles ridden and be part of the national community of bicyclists. It is a free and easy way to challenge yourself, colleagues and the greater community to ride more. Users compete on a local, state and national level. The Challenge aims to unite 75,000 riders to pedal 35 million miles from May 1, 2015 until September 30, 2015. The Challenge is a successful partnership between PeopleForBikes and Kimberly-Clark’s Scott Natural Brand.

PeopleForBikes owns, operates and maintains the National Bike Challenge website. PeopleForBikes is making bicycling better for everyone by uniting millions of riders, thousands of businesses and hundreds of communities.
