UMass Lowell’s Green Chemistry and Art – Student Challenge

The Lowell Center for Sustainable Production at the University of Massachusetts Lowell announces the “Greener Studio Challenge” – a competition for New England college, university and art school students. Open to students attending colleges, universities and art schools in New England, the Greener Studio Challenge is a competition and exhibit exploring the creation of: (A) Works of art using more sustainable (e.g., less toxic, safer) materials, media, supplies and/or practices (e.g., efficient use of water and energy; reuse of materials; minimization of exposure to hazardous materials); and (B) Green Chemistry—safer and less hazardous art materials, media and supplies.

Key dates:     

March 21, 2015:        Entry Forms due (More info about entry forms can be found here)

March 30 to April 6:   All works of art or green chemistry research posters delivered to or received by the Greater Lowell Community Foundation, 100 Merrimack St., Lowell MA (weekdays only, 9 AM to 3 PM).

April 8:                       Notification to winners

April 9:                       Opening reception at the Greater Lowell Community Foundation

April 9 to May 11:      Exhibit

May 11 to May 15:     Pick up of art and research posters (weekdays, 9 AM to 4 PM)
