Student Grant Available for Study of Ecological Restoration

Laderman Student Grant
The New England Chapter of the Society for Ecological Restoration (SER-NE) is offering two student grants to support research and studies in the field of ecological restoration. The Laderman Student Grant is dedicated in honor of Aimlee Laderman, ecologist, life-long educator, and founding member of SER-NE.

Grant Amount: Two separate grants, up to $500 each (maximum, one award per applicant).

Grant Eligibility: To be considered, applicants must meet the following criteria:
• Applicants must be undergraduate or graduate students actively involved in the study of ecological restoration and must not be previous recipients of the Laderman Student Grant. Grant-funded work must be completed while the applicant is a student.
• Completed applications must be submitted at the link provided below and must include the information required to make an informed selection decision.
• Grant funding must be requested in support of research or scholarship related to ecological restoration within the geographical limits of the SER-NE Chapter (CT, MA, ME, NH, RI, VT). Requested funding may be used for research or scholarship expenses such as travel, equipment, living expenses, or tuition.

Grant Application Evaluation: Eligible applications will be evaluated according to the following criteria: Scholarly Merit, Feasibility, Need, and Contribution to the Field of Ecological Restoration. The scoring rubric is available at the link provided below. Applicants are strongly encouraged to review the rubric prior to developing their applications.

Obligations of Grant Recipients: Grant recipients are required to complete their funded work and present the results at an SER-NE event by May 31, 2016.

Timeline: Applications must be submitted by 11:59 PM, March 25, 2015, using the application form available at the link provided below. Awards will be announced by April 30, 2015.
