The following is a message from UVM’s Center for Research on Vermont:

Power from the North – March 23 & 24, 2015, uvm

Free Registration until Feb. 1

Sherman

Join leading policy makers, energy professionals, academics and students from both sides of the international border to discuss an increasingly important Quebec-Vermont/New England electric energy relationship. Registration is free until February 1.

“Power from the North” is a two-day event March 23rd-March 24. The first day will focus on “telling the story” of this evolving relationship, examining its economic, environmental and social consequences, and ultimately inform present and future decisions regarding energy production, distribution and use in the Quebec-New England region, including the role that Quebec might play in de-carbonizing electric systems. On the second day, businesses from both sides of the border will participate in business-to-business sessions in order to foster cross-border partnerships and bring innovative energy technologies to market.

Student Paper Competition

The conference hosts a cross-border student paper/poster competition highlighting student research related to Quebec-New England or Canada-U.S. energy issues. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top 3 papers submitted.
