A 501c3 educational non-profit whose mission is “to communicate transitional strategies through film”. We use film and new media to create individual films, as well as ongoing narrative using short films and other forms of digital media.

Project Description

Candidate will provide project management for the Vermont EPSCoR Media Project at UVM.  The objective of this Media Project is to help VT EPSCoR scientists (seeking to reach a broader public about their work) communicate science more effectively. Bright Blue is facilitating this process by providing ongoing training in storytelling & narrative, digital media production and distribution strategies. Our goal is to offer training, while creating content.

Duties

Primary duty is to implement a social media strategy for Vermont EPSCoR. This entails communicating with Bright Blue team to stay on schedule and ensuring content is complete on time and technically ready for distribution. Candidate will managing social media feeds and collaborate with client (VT EPSCoR) to ensure consistent messaging (multiple sites).  Individual will work with team over the first several weeks to help design this 10-month strategy (with consideration of continued strategy in 2016). Based on skill level, individual will help produce content (short video, audio, short written project updates, etc.)

Work Environment

Individual will work on their own, in their own location. Must have access to capable computer and appropriate internet connection. Our team is located in Burlington and Montpelier and periodic trips to either will be helpful for group meetings. At a minimum, physical meetings will be held once/month.

Skills

  • Thorough understanding of storytelling techniques and

interest/experience with “telling stories over time” (master narrative)

  • Internet skills and knowledge of social media
  • Proficient in Microsoft Platform
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Energetic, optimistic and friendly
  • Digital media production skills (lighting, videography, audio (field and studio) and interviewing skills
  • Production Software (Final Cut or Adobe), Audio post production software and Design software (web design, Photoshop, AfterEffects, etc.

Opportunity

The individual will work as a contractor to Bright Blue EcoMedia for the 10-month duration of this project. The fee for this project is negotiable based on experience. If this proves a successful match, there is opportunity for continued work at the completion of this project.
