Please join AARP for an Active Living Workshop in Burlington’s South End, Sept. 25th – 27th
Whether you bike, ride or walk – in a “livable community” people of all ages and abilities can get where they want to go safely, and everything is nearby. AARP VT and the City of Burlington want to hear your ideas and dreams for a more “livable” South End in Burlington. Join us for a dynamic and interactive workshop to share your ideas of creating a better neighborhood – this is your opportunity to provide input into the efforts underway for Plan BTV South End.<https://www.burlingtonvt.gov/PlanBTV/>
The meetings are free and open to the public – just bring your ideas and an open mind. The workshops will be led by a nationally known expert on livable communities, Dan Burden of the Walkable and Livable Communities Institute<https://www.walklive.org/>. He will lead two walk audit sites in the South End and provide a framework for understanding how complete streets principles, smart growth, and community design support active living and contribute to successful aging.
We welcome you to attend each section of the workshop from September 25th to 27th, if you can only join us for a day we welcome that too! Please RSVP and choose the sections of the workshop that work best with your schedule. RSVP by phone to 877-926-8300 or register online at aarp.cvent.com/BurlingtonALW
