Announcing the Full 2014 AASHE Workshop Line-Up!

News from AASHE:

AASHE’s full schedule of 2014 professional development workshops are available so you can plan ahead! Out of nearly 50 submissions to the AASHE Professional Development request for proposals (RFP), our Education & Professional Development Steering Committee used the Listening Project feedback to identify which topics are best aligned with the needs of our members. Here are the offerings:

 

May 15-16 in State College, PA
Pennsylvania State University will host “Developing Campus Living Laboratories: A Platform for Building Academic-Operations Partnerships for Sustainability.” Find out more and register here!

 

June 20 in Wellesley, MA
GreenerU will host “Practicing Behavior Interventions: Understanding and Implementing Sustainable Behavior Change On your Campus.” Registration will be available soon and updated on the AASHE Workshops web page.

 

July 10-11 in San Diego, CA
Geoffrey Chase of San Diego State University and Peggy Barlett of Emory University will host the “AASHE Sustainability Across the Curriculum Leadership Workshop.” The call for applications is open: find out more and apply here by March 17.

 

August 13-15 in Palos Hills, IL
Moraine Valley Community College will host “Sustainability Across and Beyond the Community College Campus.” Registration will be available soon and updated on the AASHE Workshops web page.

 

 

Deadline Extended to March 7: AASHE 2014 Call for Presentations

 

Share your ideas on the largest stage for higher education sustainability thought leadership in North America at the AASHE 2014 Conference & Expo. From surprising attendees with your approach to sustainability to empowering others with the tools that have helped you, your participation is key to a better conference, and a better world. We’ve extended the Call for Presentations deadline to March 7 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific time. Submit your proposal here!

 

March AASHE Webinar: Curricular, Co-Curricular Tools for Engaging Social Dimensions of Change

 

Hosted by the Northwest Earth Institute (NWEI), this webinar will go over the importance of sustainability pedagogy, highlighting NWEI’s process of connecting and discovering in small groups as a model. The webinar will feature a brief discussion activity including content from NWEI’s series of sustainability focused course books and offer participants the opportunity to experience NWEI’s methodology of change first hand. Call for AASHE 2014 Proposal Reviewers

Each year we rely on more than 200 volunteer reviewers to help meet the volume of proposals received for the AASHE Conference & Expo. If you are interested in being part of the proposal selection process for this year’s conference, please sign up here! Reviewers will be asked to review 15-25 submissions on topics in which they offer the strongest level of expertise.
