VPIRG is looking for an advocate to champion our work in protecting kids from dangerous toxic chemicals, preserving Vermont’s precious natural resources, and promoting recycling and a zero waste future. Strong people skills are a must, as you will work directly with legislators, regulators, the Governor’s office, community leaders and VPIRG members. While specific environmental policy experience is a plus, it’Ã??s critical that you have a proven track record of effective campaign planning and advocacy. The right candidate will have a passion for public interest issues and a sense of how to leverage grassroots activism to achieve legislative and policy change. This is a full-time, exempt position in Montpelier.At least 3-5 years of experience in public policy advocacy including campaign planning, message development, coalition work and direct advocacy with leaders. Must be politically strategic, media savvy and possess strong communication skills. Experience in environmental policy and fundraising are a plus.
