Thursday, Jan. 16, 10:30-11:30am, IDX 309 – Waste Reduction/Diversion
Charge: To continue to find ways to reduce overall amount of trash, recycling, and compost on campus as well as way to greater improve our diversion of materials from the landfill by recycling, composting, reusing, donating, and/or re-selling. To work with our waste partner, Casella, on these goals. Key upcoming projects: implementing bottled water restriction implementation; expansion of compost collection; planning annual move out collection
Tuesday, Jan. 21, 9:30-10:30am, IDX 309 – Purchasing (Food & more)
Charge: To explore ways of aligning the College’s purchasing practices (particularly as it relates to food) with the College’s values. Key upcoming projects: finalizing Fair Trade campus designation; marketing fair trade products on campus; tracking local food used on campus
TUESDAY, JAN. 21, 3:15-4:15PM, IDX 309 – ACADEMIC CONNECTIONS
Charge: To continue infusing sustainability concepts and practices into College curriculum by building relationships and sharing resources and opportunities with faculty and Deans. Key upcoming projects: organizing a Sustainability Spirit week in February; planning a session for the faculty May Collaborative
Friday, Jan. 24, 10:30-11:30am, IDX 309 – Green Revolving Fund
Charge: to advise and manage the College’s Green Revolving Fund, an investment fund that finances energy efficiency, renewable energy, and other sustainability projects on campus. Key upcoming projects: fundraising; soliciting project ideas
TUESDAY, JAN. 28, 3-4:30PM, AIKEN 104 – TRANSPORTATION
Charge: To implement the 2013 Transportation Plan and to continue finding ways of reducing single-occupancy vehicle travel to/from campus. To work with our transportation partners, CATMA & RSG, on these goals.
