The Rover is the mobile household hazardous waste collection unit that hibernates at the Environmental Depot, CSWD’s year-round hazardous waste collection facility in South Burlington.The Depot takes hazardous materials all year long; the Rover stops once in each town from July 6 to October 26, 2013.

- You’ll win when you bring us your food scraps! The Chittenden Solid Waste District will accept your food scraps FREE for composting – and if you take part in the Composting Challenge, you’ll get some great rewards for putting them in compost receptacles at our Drop-Off Centers or Green Mountain Compost instead of the trash
- It’s time to plan your America Recycles Day event — CSWD can help! In April, there is Earth Day. On November 15 we have America Recycles Day — a nationwide date for organizations and groups to raise recycling awareness by holding collections, pledge drives, contests, and education events.
- Highfields offers two advanced composting workshops Composting isn’t rocket science, but there is a lot going on in that pile of leaves and food scraps. The more you know, the better it works. There are two courses offered by Highfields Center for Composting that can kick your skills to a new level — and perhaps help you land a plum position in the burgeoning green jobs market.
