It’s as easy as one, two, three:
- Bring a lunch & grab a seat;
- Listen to a 10-15 min introduction by the discussion leaders; and
- Participate in a conversation about critical issues in transportation.
Please join us for lively conversation at one (or all!) of our Brown Bag discussions. All discussions are on Fridays from 12:00 to 1:00 in Decision Theater, Farrell Hall. The building is accessible and directions can be found here. Remote access capabilities will also be provided. Directions on how to link to the presentations overview recordings of previous presentations can be found on the Brown Bag Website.
Our Brown Bags webpage will be kept up-to-date with presentation information and links. Discussion topics and leaders are subject to change without notice.
September 13th – Health Care Systems and Transportation
Hosted By: Glenn McRae of the Transportation Research Center
Discussion leader: Jack Conry, Transportation Coordinator, Fletcher Allen Health Care (FAHC)
Health Care Systems rely on the efficient operation of complex transportation networks that allow employees, patients, and visitors to access facilities 24/7/365 in addition to a just-in-time supply chain. FAHC has more than 7000 employees at its three main campuses and more than 40 satellite campuses throughout Vermont and upstate New York. The main campus in Burlington receives more than 61,000 emergency room visits a year in addition to inpatients, outpatients, families, and support groups. Mr. Conry will discuss some of the challenges and innovations that Fletcher Allen has addressed in the past and how the system is expected to grow and adapt in the future. Mr. Conry has over 30 years of experience dealing with parking and transportation challenges at both the University of Vermont and Fletcher Allen Health Care.
