“Celebrate Burlington” event, Thursday, May 30th

The annual “Celebrate Burlington” event will be on Thursday, May 30th, from 5:00-7:00 PM in City Hall’s Contois Auditorium.

The City of Burlington will continue its annual tradition of recognizing through special awards staff and community members who help build stronger, safer communities. Also, the City will be celebrating the 15-year anniversary of the Community Justice Center of the Community and Economic Development Office.

The event will feature an evening of food, fun, and awards, as well as recognize the important work done to keep our communities safe, vibrant, and green. This year, in addition to the annually presented Peter Clavelle and Herb Bloomenthal awards, a new award will be named and presented to a leader who has made great contributions toward advancing community justice in Burlington.

The event also will include a preview of the Diversity and Equity Strategic Plan, recognition of the Neighborhood Planning Assemblies that have been shaping neighborhood concerns for 30 years, Burlington’s continued efforts toward sustainability, and remarks from the Mayor.
