Intervale Center Native Plant-a-thons
May 4 * May 18 * May 25
Get outside. Have fun. Make a difference.
This spring, we need your help! Volunteer with the Intervale Conservation Nursery and plant more than 2000 trees in Waitsfield, Essex and Williston that will protect Vermont’s water quality, mitigate climate change, and restore our native landscape.
Saturday May 4-Green Up Day, Waitsfield
- Join ICN and Friends of the Mad River as we plant 1000 trees in one day! This is in addition to the 600 trees we planted in Waitsfield last year. Green Mountain Coffee Roastersgenerously provided the trees for this project.
- ICN and Wildlife Management Institute will be planting 350 trees along Alder Brook. This project is also funded through a grant from Green Mountain Coffee Roasters.
- Help ICN and the Town of Williston plant 650 trees along Allen Brook. This project is also funded through a grant from Green Mountain Coffee Roasters.
Native trees planted along streams and rivers prevent erosion and reduce run-off, creating cleaner water and healthier ecosystems. They provide natural habitat for insects and animals, make our air cleaner, sequester carbon, and make our communities more serene and beautiful.
