EHS Division Sponsors Food Drive

The third annual Champlain College CAP Food Drive to benefit the Northeast Kingdom region of Vermont has begun. As many of you are aware, this community has very generously donated time and energy to Champlain students in order to provide them with on-hands experience as well as an overall awareness of a different demographic, primarily the dynamics and effects of rural poverty.  This year the program has expanded and now includes the EHS department’s programs of Psychology, Legal Studies, and Social Work.  There will be two trips to the correctional facility in Newport next week and an awareness/outreach day in mid-November.  Many hours have gone into planning and providing for this life-changing experience for the students which has been enormously successful thus far.

The food drive is a way to support this wonderful community as well to express overall gratitude for their tremendous generosity in accommodating and embracing Champlain students.  The CAP Food Drive is completely student run. They have placed boxes in the cafeteria, Fireside Lounge, the library, as well as the EHS office in Freeman 200. Their enthusiasm and effort have been heart-warming.

Any nonperishable items (including both paper and personal hygiene products) may be brought to any of these locations. There is a specific need for pasta sauce, cereal, and healthy after school snacks for kids.
Thank you all for your continued support!
