The Bowdoin College Sustainability Office is seeking a new Outreach Coordinator. This position assists the Coordinator for a Sustainable Bowdoin in the Department of Facilities Management leading campus outreach efforts and student engagement around Bowdoin’s Climate Action Plan in addition to grant writing in the area of sustainability and energy efficiency.

The Sustainability Outreach Coordinator is responsible for recruitment, coordination, and training in the student and office “EcoRep” programs . This position assists the Sustainability Coordinator in other student led-initiatives, communication of Bowdoin’s sustainability initiatives and Carbon Neutrality Plan, updates to the College’s environmental/sustainability databases and the sustainability website; verifying and reporting the effectiveness of these programs in reducing carbon emissions and associated cost reductions. This individual will also support the College’s Sustainability Implementation Committee.
In addition, the Sustainability Outreach Coordinator researches foundations and corporations to evaluate prospects for grants; compiles and synthesizes information about Bowdoin’s programming and communicates in a compelling fashion to prospects; maintains communications and provides updates to funders regarding grant awards. This position is also responsible for writing sustainable “green” grants for the Treasurer’s Office and helps prepare updates to the College’s greenhouse gas emission plan.
