The Spring Move Out Project team (a partnership of Burlington Code Enforcement, CEDO, UVM, Champlain College, CSWD, ReSOURCE, Casella, & Myers) really needs your help to carry out our events on Loomis and Buell Streets on May 25. We need about 40+ volunteers to help manage the event so that it is successful.
Sign up to volunteer for the 16th annual Spring Move Out Project (SMOP) – help us out for an hour or two, or for the whole event!
Wednesday, May 25
Downtown Burlington
Volunteers needed from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm
To register as a volunteer – please go to this registration site.
SMOP happens, rain or shine!
Volunteers help monitor drop-off stations; assist at the entrances and exits, and lift heavy objects to their designated stations. If you are able and willing to do the heavy lifting, that would be most appreciated, as will doing the many other tasks that help make this event successful.
SMOP provides students and area residents the opportunity to bring clothing, books, household items, furniture, and non-perishable food items to this community recycling and swap event. This popular street swap encourages reuse, recycling, and overall better management of unwanted items during move-out each May. Items not claimed by community members during the event will be donated to local charities, including ReSOURCE, the Vermont Refugee Resettlement Program, and the Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf.
