Champlain College has registered for the Vermont Bike Challenge, and we’re encouraging all employees to sign up! The Vermont Bike Challenge (part of the National Bike Challenge) is brought to you by Local Motion, and it’s a fun way to take your bicycling to the next level. You can sign up at www.nationalbikechallenge.org.
When you sign up for the Challenge, the miles you ride count not only for you, but also for Champlain College, your hometown, and Vermont as a whole (as well as for your team, if you start or join one). You get 20 points for every day you ride, plus a point for every mile — so with regular riding, the points add up fast! Results show up in real time on interactive leaderboards at www.nationalbikechallenge.org.
Here’s what you do:
- Sign up for the 2014 Vermont Bike Challenge! Go to www.nationalbikechallenge.org and click the big red “JOIN” banner. As soon as you register, you will be automatically assigned to the Vermont Bike Challenge, based on your zipcode (if you live in Vermont).
- Promote the Challenge to coworkers! Send them to www.VTbikechallenge.org for more info and links or to www.nationalbikechallenge.org to sign up directly. You can download PDF flyers for promoting the Challenge at www.VTbikechallenge.org.
- Start or join a team! This year, there is no limit to how many people can join a team, so recruit early and often. You can invite friends, coworkers, neighbors, or anyone else to join your team.
