We’re pleased to offer two webinars all about Act 250, Vermont’s landmark land use law, which turned 50 last week. Act 250 has served Vermont well and has helped keep Vermont’s settlement patterns intact. However, the challenges facing our state have evolved over the last 50 years. Here’s what’s coming up:
Act 250: How did we get here? on Thursday, April 16 at noon
Act 250: Where are going? on Thursday, April 23 at noon
In the first installment, VNRC’s Brian Shupe and Jon Groveman will provide a brief history of Act 250, detailing how the venerable law has benefited Vermont since it was enacted in 1970. We’ll also begin to outline the ways the law can be improved to better serve Vermont into the future by helping us meet the new challenges that lie ahead. Register here to join Part I via Zoom.
On Thursday, April 23, Shupe and Groveman will explore the status of an Act 250 modernization bill that’s currently in the Legislature — put on hold as lawmakers respond to the COVID-19 crisis — and discuss what may come next. Register here to join Part II via Zoom.
Recordings will be made available for those who cannot join us.
Register here to join the first conversation via Zoom this Thursday, 4/16 at noon.
In case you missed it: Thanks to all who attended last Thursday’s webinar, Keeping our Forests and Wildlife Habitats Intact! We recorded the talk and it can be viewed or listened to here.
