SI Scholars Speak Out online event (Fri. 4/30)

The Social Impact Scholars will be hosting an online “SPEAK OUT” event through InSpace on Friday 4/30, 1:15 to 2:15PM. Each of the Scholars has created a piece (essay, visual design, poem, video) that addresses a contemporary issue that is significant for them.

Topics this year include:

  • shark finning
  • diversity in games
  • campus sexual assault
  • transgender athletes
  • police brutality
  • gun control
  • U.S, border detention centers
  • immigration laws
  • union membership
  • universal health care
  • legalizing marijuana
  • the Israeli-Palestinian conflict

On Friday, we will have a “gallery opening” with the Scholars presenting their work and leading discussions around these topics.
