We are thrilled to announce a brand new position at King Street Center, designed to answer the call of our community. Teens are eager for more intensive, consistent guidance as they navigate all the steps toward their post-high school experience. We are ready to get started!

The Academic & Career Advocate (ACA) will be a vital member of our Teen Program team to meet the varied academic and career aspirations of our multicultural middle and high school-aged students. The goal of the position is to ensure all youth aging up through our programs are successful and supported as they pursue their chosen academic and career path.

A successful ACA will bring energy and know-how to their relationships with teens with the ability to tap into our community’s resources. Advising, program planning, and outreach will focus on self-discovery, job/internship skills, and help in navigating each step toward post high-school choices.

A strong candidate with have a Bachelor’s Degree in education, social work, or related field with proven success in building relationships with multicultural teens. Knowledge of high school graduation expectations and resources available to youth in the Burlington community, as well as the ability to work as part of a collaborative team with fellow staff, program partners, volunteers, parents, and educators is key.
