Grand Challenges Institute: Water – May 13-15, West Oahu, HI

Organized by: University of Hawai‘i System

This curriculum workshop offers intensive trans-disciplinary professional development around course and educational project (re)design focusing on water in the wider contexts of lived practice, community engagement, indigenous knowledge, sustainability, food sovereignty and climate change. Register by May 1.

Sustainability in the Curriculum Faculty Professional Development – May 16-17, Rio Grande Valley, TX

Organized by: The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley

This program has a common goal to bring together faculty from all fields, allowing for an exchange of ideas nurturing an enriching collaborative atmosphere. This interdisciplinary exercise will help faculty explore the shifts in pedagogy needed to incorporate sustainability concepts, problems, or solutions into new or existing courses. Register by May 3.

This event brings together faculty members from all academic disciplines to work collaboratively to introduce & enhance sustainability content in any course. Apply by April 1.

This workshop will introduce best practices for integrating sustainability across the curriculum, from designing a sustainability-focused assignment or course to strategizing curriculum-wide sustainability learning goals. Register by May 1.

This online course is designed for higher education instructors wishing to infuse issues of sustainability (ecological stability, social equity, and economic vitality) into their curriculum regardless of the discipline. Register by May 1.

Making Sustainability Accessible: A Curriculum Development Workshop – Aug. 8-9, Lawrence, KS

Organized by: University of Kansas and Johnson County Community College

Designed to help faculty from all disciplines make connections to sustainability within their curriculum, this workshop will explore themes of sense of place, community wellness, cooperative problem-solving, and more to make sustainability concepts relatable to students entering any field. Register by Aug. 5.
