Our plan is to walk from Middlebury to Montpelier, April 5 to 9, 2019. During the five days, we’ll use our collective strength, as well as our connections with each other and the land, to deepen our knowledge of the climate emergency, celebrate solutions, and discuss ways to support and sustain next steps.
We acknowledge this is the original homeland of the Abenaki people and what is now called Vermont is one small portion of what the people term Ndakinna. In solidarity with the indigenous people of the area, we hope to join them as stewards of this place. Along the way we’ll see parts of the pipeline route, meet people and organizations who are implementing climate solutions, and lend a hand. We’ll finish with an action in Montpelier to call for a ban on fossil fuel pipelines.
Participants can join for one day, five days, or according to your ability, and can expect stories, ceremonies, laughter, tears, camaraderie, and blisters.
