With the recent turn in seasons, our stewardship projects are in full swing. We are always grateful for extra helping hands and eager to share these special places with our volunteers! Between updating our trail infrastructure and removing water chestnut from wetlands, July and August will be busy and we hope that you can help us spread the word among your networks. I have attached a flier for reference that includes dates and locations. Anyone who would like to sign up for any one of the days should send an email to volunteervt@tnc.org or call 802.229.4425 x 106
For these tasks, no prior experience is necessary, but please note that days in the field can be very strenuous. Additionally, water chestnut removal occurs in canoes (provided) with prolonged exposure to the elements. Therefore, we ask that all volunteers consider their abilities when signing up for a workday and encourage individuals to let us know if they have any questions or concerns. All days generally run from about 9:30a – 2:30p, but specific timing will depend on the location. Details for each event will be shared following sign-ups.
Please do not hesitate to send any questions my way. We hope to see some of your groups out in the field!
My best,
Jack
