Women’s & Gender Center Updates

The Women’s and Gender Center would like to share some information regarding upcoming events and ongoing programming. Please see below:
Women’s Mentoring Program in need of 1-2 Mentees: The Women’s Mentoring Program is in full swing this semester, but the program still needs at least one more first-year, female-identified student to join as a mentee. If you know a student who could benefit from having consistent, friendly support from an upper class female-identified student, please send their name and any necessary information to Maddie Braz, mbraz@champlain.edu.
 
International Women’s Day Event12:30pm-1:45pm on Wednesday, March 7th (the day before the official International Women’s Day) in the Alumni Auditorium.  Our guest speaker, Ritu Sharma, will speak about her work with international women‘s rights, gender based violence, and women‘s leadership, followed by a student panel and  Q&A. The panel will consist of students who are international students themselves, have international experience, and/or do international work related to women’s empowerment.
 
Bagel Wednesdays: Faculty, staff, and students are welcome to visit the WGC on Wednesdays, 1-5pm for free bagels, comfy couches, and conversation. 

Women’s Leadership Speaker Series: Thursdays 12:30-1:45pm in the WGC. Join the Women’s Leadership Seminar Class as we hear from a variety of community speakers (see attached).
 

Knitting: Thursdays 4-5pm in the WGC. Whether you’re a beginner or an expert knitter, our space is open to you every week. Come chat with friends and get crafty!
