Volunteer Opportunities with Black Lives Matter VT

Black Lives Matter Vermont

Dear Supporters of BLM VT,

Thank you, first, for all you do to help us make a difference in the community. It is not easy, but we persevere in the hopes of a better day when all people can pursue happiness, freely. We hold our supporters close to the heartbeat of the organization, as they help provide the fuel needed to establish social justice transformation in Vermont.

We have a new software program that we’re hoping helps us better organize our membership base. We are also hoping to be able to send out emails more frequently to update you with important news and events. To be successful, we will need you all to sign up again to renew your annual memberships. If you have signed up within the past five months, you will not need to sign up again. Choose the membership that best serves your business, self, and or family. For as low as $10 per month, you can be a part of the great work and foundation being laid. Please don’t delay, sign up anytime.

Things to be aware of:

BLM’s all over the country has been infiltrated by paid informants to discredit it’s leaders and works, VT BLM is not exempt

Please find it in your hearts to make an additional one time donation to pay off our debt

Visit https://www.eventbrite.com/e/my-sisters-keeper-challenge-conference-pt-2-tickets-42601831224 This conference is one of many next steps needed in response to the Women’s March on January 21, 2017. Women of color and their experiences are the focus of the My Sister’s Keeper Challenge Conference. The purpose is to educate and investigate the intersectional realities to which cis and Trans women live. Some white people may perceive Vermont to be a refuge. However, if you ask a person of color or someone from a marginalized community, it is definitely not a refuge. “There many challenges unique to Vermont, and I think that’s due to the population being close to 100 percent white.” –Ebony Nyoni, co-founder and Lead Organizer of Black Lives Matter VT. About Black Lives Matter VT Black Lives Matter Vermont, is a growing network of individuals, families, and businesses invested in the liberation of Black Vermonters, and dismantling systemic racism endured by Black and Brown residents across the state. Black Lives Matter Vermont, is an official non-profit organization recognized by the state of Vermont. We envision… A new liberation movement focused on the preservation of Black lives. We envision… A Vermont where the laws and policies of the land no longer work towards oppressing marginalized people of color communities, but instead put to action “people centered,” “oppression-free,” mechanisms designed to uplift, nurture and protect all people. We envision… A Vermont that recognizes the unique plights of communities of color in every public faction. This includes but not limited to: Leadership in local and State Government, Employment, Criminal Justice System, Public Education System, Healthcare System, Public Housing, Black Economy, and Department of Children and Families.
