WEEKDAY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED – ECHO, Leahy Center for Lake Champlain needs weekday volunteers in their Education Department (9:30-1:30 p.m. or 1-5 p.m.). ECHO internships provide valuable experience and unlimited opportunities for learning. Interns may create a video, weigh and feed many species of turtles, guide children in exploring the wonders of nature, support the events staff, help design an interactive exhibit, and more. CHILD CARE – Lund has need of volunteers to provide morning child care, weekdays from 7-9 a.m. and weekends from 8:30-10 a.m. while moms attend meetings. Volunteers should be able to commit to a regular schedule. There is also a need for evening child care, Mondays from 6-8 p.m. Children range from 9 months to 5 years old. Background check required. ON TOUR – St. Albans Museum is accepting volunteers to serve as Tour Guides to provide assistance to guests as they explore exhibits and displays. Training provided. FOOD SHELF VOLUNTEERS NEEDED – Sheldon Methodist Church Food Shelf has need of volunteers to help carry food up and down stairs, prepack boxes of food, assist clients as they come for food distribution and help manage counter service. A SAFE PLACE – Essex CHIPS is introducing a new youth outreach program for Essex Junction, Essex, Westford, and Jericho. Safe Place is a network of youth-friendly businesses, organizations and community members working together to connect youth to services and resources they may need. Volunteers are needed to pick up youth from Safe Placer Sites and transport them to CHIPS, help maintain Safe Place Sites, maintain a database and other clerical support, make community presentations and help fundraise.
