Symposium for Social Justice Action Groups

If you are concerned about the direction our country is going and are looking for ways to work for social change, this is the event for you. At the Symposium you will find out about current grassroots efforts in Vermont and ways to plug into this work. You will get to choose four groups and spend 45 minutes with each to learn about their efforts and how you can get involved.

The timeline for the day is as follows:

8:45 – 9:30 registration and opening reception (coffee, snacks)

9:30 – 10:00 welcome remarks

10:15 – 11:00 Session I

11:15 – 12:00 Session II

12:00 – 1:00 lunch with presentation

1:00 – 1:45 Session III

2:00 – 2:45 Session IV

2:45 – 3:30 Closing reception (coffee, snacks)

This event is being organized by the Peace & Justice Center with support from the Burlington School District and in collaboration with Dr. Laura Clemmons. For more information contact intern@pjcvt.org or check out our Facebook event.

Cost:

  • $20 for the public
  • $10 for under 25
  • $0 for high school or middle school students (younger kids welcome for free but content is aimed at adults and young adults)
  • No one will be turned away for lack of funds

This fee includes morning and afternoon refreshments. Lunch is not included. Please plan to bring a lunch or to purchase lunch from local food vendors who will be on site.
